A halal cafe in Rhode Island

Rhode Island has plenty of coffee, and very little of it is somewhere a halal family can settle in for the evening. Layali Cafe was built for exactly that: a room where the coffee is Turkish and Syrian as well as espresso-based, the drinks list runs to mocktails rather than cocktails, and nobody has to read the small print.

The hot drinks run from a $2.99 espresso through cortado, flat white and Spanish latte; the iced side adds matcha, mocha and iced Spanish latte. Sit with a coffee and a plate of lady fingers, or bring the family for crepes after dinner.
