Straight answer

Is Layali Cafe halal?

Yes — and here is what that actually means rather than a badge on a wall. There is no pork anywhere in the building. There is no alcohol on the menu, in the drinks, or used in cooking. The mocktails are fruit, mint, citrus and soda. The coffee has no liqueur syrups.

The menu is dessert-led and largely vegetarian: fruit, cream, chocolate, nuts, honey, pastry, cheese, spinach and za'atar. If you want to check one specific item before you order, call and ask. A straight answer on the phone is worth more than a vague claim on a website.

Questions

Do you have a halal certificate?

We do not claim a certificate we do not hold. What we state is verifiable and specific: no pork, no alcohol, no wine in the kitchen.

Are the mocktails really alcohol-free?

Yes. A mojito here is mint, lime, fruit and soda. There is no rum and no non-alcoholic spirit substitute.

Who do I ask about a specific ingredient?

Call (401) 615-6040 during opening hours and ask for the item by name.
