A halal gathering usually solves the main course and then stalls on dessert. Layali Cafe caters the sweet end of the evening — trays of Eastern sweets, platters of crepes and waffles cut for sharing, fruit salads built to order, and jugs of fresh juice or mocktails instead of a bar.
